I totally enjoyed this six-day-thanksgiving-break! it's my first long break since summer. I feel so refreshed and well rested. :) I am reminded of how thankful I am to be given a break from teaching.
I think I enjoyed the break (a little too much!) that I put grading, lesson planning, checking the emails, prepping for this week on hold. It's Sunday night and I am scrambling to gather my thoughts together and thinking of creative and fun ways to teach this week.
since this blog is all about teaching...I will write things I am thankful for about my work:
1) thankful that I am given an opportunity to live out my dream as a teacher!
2) thankful that I work with cute kids and have opportunities to make a difference.
3) thankful that I work with awesome coworkers (they are great team players!)
4) thankful that I work with supportive and generous parents
5) thankful that I get to laugh at my students, laugh with my students, and laugh about my students!
6) thankful that I get to teach a new grade level this year. It's turning out to be a HUGE blessing! :) i am totally loving this change. I think I can go on and on about how much I love third grade, but then again I can go on and on about how much I love kindergarten! :) I can't imagine teaching another grade level. God is so good for making this transition so smooth! It's going beyond my expectations. Why did I worry?
Over the summer, a group of ladies gathered together on a weekly basis and went over the book by Linda Dillow "Calm my anxious heart." To summarize the book, it is understanding that God is the blessed controller of everything.
"do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Phil 4:6-7
I praise God for being so constant and faithful! He has answered my prayers and I feel so refreshed!
Why did I even worry?
